Diego Carneiro

Diego Carneiro is a visionary cellist, conductor, and Rotary Peace Fellow whose life’s work bridges music and humanitarian action, spreading messages of peace across the globe. Born in the Brazilian Amazon, Diego launched his mission early, founding an Orchestra and a school in the Amazon, driven by a belief that music can be a powerful force for transformation.

Diego’s musical journey began early in Brazil, in the Amazon region, and his education took him to prestigious institutions worldwide. He studied cello at Trinity College of Music in London; his studies also extended to Switzerland, further deepening his expertise by getting his Master’s Degree. Numerous masterclasses with renowned musicians complemented Diego’s formal education, and he was awarded several prestigious international competition prizes, which allowed him to perform at distinguished venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London and during the BBC Proms.

His career spans various musical fields, and his performances are celebrated for their emotional depth and technical proficiency. Beyond the concert stage, Diego has channeled his musical talent into social good, primarily through projects to promote peace and environmental and cultural understanding.
